We have been staying here for years. The hotel has been through several different owners, and they have all been very nice. Allie and Ryan have redone our favorite suite, and it’s perfect for our yearly wedding anniversary stay. It’s easy to communicate with the staff, and they respond quickly. We will be booking for next year soon!

Exceptionally pleased with our girl-friends get-away stay. When we arrived, it was a 90 degree day, the air was on, place clean, bed, pillows, blankets very comfortable. We needed a cot at the last minute and even though owners were in the cities running errands, they made it back that night to get us set up. Ryan took time to chat with us, such a great personality. The grounds were meticulous, wonderful seating areas, our deck delightful, and the view open, welcoming and serene. Pastries available in the am from a local business were fresh and good quality. We actually ate lunch at that bakery. Great sandwiches. As we looked around, the design of our suite and added touches were well thought out. Highly recommend!

The place was clean and nicely decorated. Great morning coffee and pastries. Place to store your bikes and close to restaurants and right off the Root River Trail. The bicycle trail is well maintained and tree lined. The town of Lanesboro also has a nice city park with electric vehicle chargers walking distance to the inn. The inn also has common areas inside and outside. The owners are very attentive and friendly.

A last minute reservation turned into the most delightful stay I've had in years. The room was comfortable, fresh and welcoming. The grounds beckon you out of your room to enjoy some time in a chair or hammock on the lawn or visiting at a table. Once I arrived at this cute tucked away gem I felt genuinely at home after a long tiring day. Ryan, Allie and family are amazing hosts, their gift of hospitality is amazing. The fresh pastries in the morning from the local bakery were warm and delicious. I look forward to coming back.

Spent 3 nights and it was a very good experience. The rooms were modern and clean and the hotel had a very nice rustic and comfortable feel to it. There were ample seating areas outside to relax and take in the scenery and a couple propane fire pits were available. Great proximity to the trails. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

I very highly recommended the recently updated Root River Inn and Suites . Perfect location . The lawn/ chairs were fantastic for a yard game and we loved the gas fire table in the evening. The coffee room with the best fresh rolls and other information / games. My bed and the room were very comfortable. I’ll seek it out for my next stay !

We had a fabulous time at the Root River Inn in picturesque Lanesboro! It sits up on a hill overlooking the river, bridge and main street. We enjoyed the view from the garden and spent lots of time there, drawing, talking and just relaxing. The room was quiet and quaint. Fresh pastries in the morning and coffee was a treat. We didn’t need the car since everything was in walking distance. . The family that runs the Inn was gracious and friendly. They invited us to come to open mic to listen to local musicians at High Court Pub. We had a great time hanging out and listening to music near the river. I would highly recommend booking more than one night at this historic Inn.
