Great hospitality! We were active biking, tubing, dining, and attending theater so our efficiency Peterson room was perfect for our needs. Great use of space! Coffee and delicious bakery items in the Brew Haus room was a nice way to meet fellow travelers. The decorations, landscaping, flowers, patios, and spots to sit and watch the world go by are a tribute to the owners. After the play "The Mystery of Edwin Drood" it was fun to see how many of us in the audience were staying at the Root River Inn as we sauntered back.

We had a great visit to the Lanesboro area this past weekend and decided on the Root River Inn. The inn was well kept inside and out. The surrounding grounds had plenty of space to relax and take in the local scenery. The room we were in was very spacious and provided a peaceful night’s sleep. We were given a lot of information around the area since this was our first visit. The owners Ryan and Allie are very knowledge about of the surrounding area that gave us great advise for local shopping, food and drink and activities like biking, hiking and kayaking. We highly recommend staying at the Root River Inn and look forward to booking another visit real soon!

Phenomenal experience! Staying at the Root River Inn and Suite felt like an event all by itself! Hosts gave us countless recommendations for places to eat, things to do, where to go, so many things to do at property, all the thoughtful accommodations, self serve mini shop, brew haus at night with board games, morning for most incredible danishes and pastries you've ever had! I felt like I was on top of the world when I laid in the hammock on the hill that overlooks the beautiful and extremely well maintained landscaping, including firepits, bean bag toss game, marshmallows to toast, and the succulents growing right out of the stairs were adorable! Those are only some of the reasons our stay made our road trip to Minnesota super special!

Wow, this is the epitome of innkeeping competence, in our view!! Found the experience and comfort as top-notch from start to finish. We'd been to Lanesboro before and found this place to be the perfect combination of great room/ amenities/ parking/ location and SERVICE! Host Allie is very cordial and helpful, and the place was expertly maintained and perfectly functional and thoughtfully provisioned. They incorporate energy and transaction efficiency in their operation, and The Inn could not be more convenient, location-wise. Our room, The Whalan, was perfect for our needs. With the larger accomodations available, we're thinking family/friends could HQ here for great Lanesboro fun. (Allie turned us on to a music/talent gathering in the park where hubby's trio closed out the show with some great music...well done, Ryan!)

This inn gets our highest recommendation for so many reasons. The inn is in an old, well-maintained building with lots of charm but the rooms have a contemporary feel and are super clean. Although our room was small (Houston Room), the high ceilings made it feel more spacious. The grounds are beautiful, with lovely landscaping. Our room offered porch sitting with a view of the grounds - we felt we were in the midst of a park. If you plan to ride the Root River Trail (which we highly recommend) the inn is in a perfect location. Ride out from the convenient locked bike storage room in the back parking lot and the entrance to the trail is practically at your front door. Thanks to our hosts - Allie and Ryan - who were gracious and helpful but not intrusive in any way. This is a beautiful inn in an absolutely gorgeous place to ride!

At dusk, we were surrounded by countless fireflies, which made the already picturesque scene truly magical. Sitting by the fire with s'mores was simply unbeatable! The surrounding area is perfect for cycling, water sports (tubing and kayaking are highly recommended!) on the Root River, and enjoying ice cream! We even spotted several bald eagles on the river! The owners, Allie and Ryan, are incredibly warm and welcoming people who make your stay as pleasant as possible and always have great tips and recommendations. You can't help but like them! Die Besitzer Allie und Ryan sind SEHR herzliche, willkommen heißende Menschen, die einem den Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich machen und immer gute Tipps und Empfehlungen für einen haben. My friend and I stayed here for our annual biking trip. The place was amazing! The bike path was located near the front of the inn and all of the bars and restaurants were within walking distance. The kayak/tube rental was also across the street. Perfect location where we didn't have to drive anywhere. The Inn itself is beautiful. It was a perfect place to relax in the shade or play cards on the deck. The owners were so friendly and gave advice on where to eat or things to do. They also provided coffee and tea for free as well as marshmallows to roast at night. They also brought in local pastries for breakfast each morning that were delicious! My friend and I will definitely be booking this place again next year and hope to also bring our husbands for a second stay.

Perfection in a historic Inn and quaint town. Paved bike trails with beautiful views. The Inn was comfortable and extremely clean, the pictures don’t do it justice and the owner was more than accommodating and knowledgeable about all that the surrounding areas had to offer including restaurant suggestions. Pleasantly surprised to have a 5 star chefs restaurant across the street from the inn- (Junipers) food was delicious!!! We are already planning a return trip !!
