What a magical place! We were in the Rushford suite which has the best private deck ever! The peace and serenity were immeasurable. The owners were so kind and lovely and the morning pastry’s were delicious. We will definitely be back in the future!

Not our first time in Lanesboro, but this was our first time at the Root River Inn and it won’t be our last, we have found the perfect vacationing spot here! Loved relaxing in the hammock and the hospitality is unmatched, felt like home. The suites are so wonderful, exceptionally clean, a huge private deck to overlook the Main Street. As other reviews as well, we didn’t have to drive or move the car once! Everything in walking distance. We will never stay anywhere else when coming back to Lanesboro.

Completely gorgeous Inn & Suites in terrific location! LOVED that Lanesboro & Preston suites are adjacent with huge deck & are the only quarters at 3rd floor level, i.e. tree top views with spacious, well appointed decks. Anyone who will love exclusive use of these 2 adjoining suites, do it! Their entrances are around the corner from each other, creating a sense of privacy as well. Our 1st time in the area. Our companion couple asked us to join them in Lanesboro this year. That the 4 of us had these two suites & deck to ourselves was awesome. Wonderful personal service by owner family, as well!

Our room was clean, comfortable, and offered a great view of this beautiful property. All of the Lansboro establishments are within easy walking distance of the Root River Inn. (Fun Fact: It's legal to stroll the town with your beer!) We stayed in the "Harmony Room", which is right next to the Brewhaus (hospitality room) - so we had easy access to that essential 1st cup of coffee and a delicious pastry. Ryan & Allie (owner/hosts) were wonderful and had all the local info. We'll definitely be back for another visit!

This was our first visit to this delightful town! Ryan and Allie made this experience extra special. I was concerned about steps, and Ryan suggested the perfect suite for myself & daughter. We were right on Main street and never moved our car for 4 days as we explored all the shops and events available. This is quite the biking town-just as we had been told-and we took full advantage along the beautiful trails. At Root River Inn there were fresh warm pastries & coffee every morning. Our accommodations were roomy & well cared for. We enjoyed a flat screen TV for Netflix (which we never had time to watch), a small kitchenette supplied with coffee maker & all the essentials. Their grounds were beautiful, we had a private flagstone patio & were able to play a few rounds of been-toss on their lavish lawns before we left. We not only had an incredible time, we met some new friends with Ryan, Allie and their daughter. All and all, a top 10 experience with these new owners!

I would highly recommend The Root River Inn to anyone interested in biking on the absolutely beautiful Root River Bike Trail, which meanders along the river, across bridges, into some quaint little towns, and through some exceptional countryside with songbirds and wildflowers galore!! ( It’s right across the street!) We so enjoyed the inn’s restored elegance, our cheerful, amazingly clean room, the beautifully landscaped and manicured grounds, the cozy amenities, and the cheerful, accommodating innkeeper/owner, Ryan!! I plan on recommending this adventure and exceptional lodging to my many biking friends!!

First of all Ryan and his family were perfect hosts. Very friendly and knowledgeable on the areas events and surrounding areas as well. My wife and I stayed in the Fountain Room and it had all you needed for a room. Comfortable bed, nice couch and mini fridge. Bathroom was quite nice compared to others. Anything the room didn’t have there was a common room with it. Each morning there was fresh baked goods from local bakery along with coffee and teas. We highly recommend and encourage anyone looking for a fun town and fun BnB to stay at Root River Inn & Suites!

What a beautiful place to stay in this cute little town! Me, my mom and sister stayed here for a mothers day weekend. It had everything we needed. Sooo enjoyed sitting on our deck in the evening playing games with a glass of wine. Very nice, comfortable and clean rooms and Ryan and Allie were friendly and gracious hosts!

Excellent stay. Love the updates and the wonderful hospitality. We enjoyed sitting on the lawn listening to the music and watching the river wildlife through the trees. We'll be back as often as we can. Wonderful people everywhere we went. Definitely do the Amish farms tour or self driving.
