Just got home from our second stay at the Root River Inn. This stay we upgraded to the Lanesboro Suite. Wow! Clean, comfortable, and fully equipped. The best part was the shower. You can adjust the force from the shower head which was really great. The Inn is built onto a hill. You can sit outside, relax, converse with other guests, and watch the world go by. Two nights we attended the local Commonweal Theater. Both shows were good. Biked every day. Ate well in the local restaurants. Overall, a really good vacation!

I am the housekeeper at Root River Inn & Suites ....very beautiful place and quiet and lots to do .....tubing ...shopping ....eating....fishing....list goes on......if never been to lanesboro it is worth coming for the weekend or even during the week as Root River Inn & suites is right on main street and convenient for walking to all the places to check out and come back to rest and enjoy the the beautiful scenery!

A great spot to stay while biking the Root River. We camped along the trail one night and stayed here the next night. It was perfect - a great location - comfortable accommodations and all the amenities you appreciate on an active vacation. Lanesboro has good restaurants, grocery stores and shops. We loved our time there.

My husband and I went there with another couple and 2 other friends for a couple days during the week. We all had our own rooms and suites. It worked out great and we all gathered on their large deck. We grilled one night and went out to eat the other. There are many fun things to do from biking, exploring beautiful sights, winery’s, brewery’s, floating down the Root River, shopping etc. The rooms were decorated so cute and very clean. You have different gathering areas and the grounds are beautiful! The owners thought of everything to make your stay just right and very relaxing. Check it out you won’t be disappointed. We will be back!

Lovely setting. We especially enjoyed the outdoor spaces. Modern room that was super clean. Awesome that they have easily accessible, locked bike storage. Morning pastries from the local bakery were fabulous, along with great coffee. Easy self check-in and check-out. Ryan was a fantastic host with great recommendations for food, activities, etc. Will definitely return for another stay! And Lanesboro is such a quaint, charming town.

Located conveniently in downtown historic Lanesboro with river views and adjacent to all the great restaurants and outdoor shops and activities (including the trail) the Inn is well appointed with all you want (even things you weren’t yet aware you wanted). Everything is accessible to you as if at home, but Ryan (the co-owner) was there to introduce us to a plethora of amenities and the midweek cadence of the town. The town and Inn exceeded our expectations. We booked the Rushmore suite for my wife and me and the Harmony room for our three teens. It worked perfectly with room for all, a place to gather on our deck and the lawn, as well as the shared bike storage, AM offerings from the local patisserie, and access to all Lanesboro offers.

Our stay exceeded our expectations. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and super cute, the property very spacious and accommodation, and the location can’t be best. We were right across the street from tubing, short bike ride to the trail, and easy short walk to everything in Lanesboro, stored our bikes safely in the locked garage, and right next to the city park. We borrowed the properties volley ball and bean bag toss equipment. Our kids really enjoyed the free pastries in the morning. We plan to book early to do it all again next year. Thanks for a wonderful weekend.

We had a great time in Lanesboro and enjoyed our stay at the Root River Inn. It's just a block or two from everything in town and right on the trail. The owners are great and really helpful. It's an old building (1890's) so some of the rooms can be a little quirky since plumbing, electric and HVAC are ale retrofitted. So if you don't appreciate little oddities that can result from that it might not be for you. But we would stay there again if we return to Lanesboro.
