Overall it was a great stay in the Rushford suite. I especially appreciated the quiet, cleanliness, and the attention to detail in the design. I love the simple furnishings, comfortable chairs, the hooks, shelves, the low profile tub easy to step into, night lights, the quiet frig and AC, modern art, and lack of dusty old antiques!

My wife and I came down for a trip to do biking and canoeing. This is a great location near town and next to the trails. Easy to get everywhere and we loved the self-check in and check out for a more private experience. No staff on site, but there are ample amenities (snacks, coffee, common spaces) and staff is easy to contact with any questions or concerns. We can easily picture returning.

Spent 2 nights in the Rushford Suite and 1 night in the Whalen room. The Rushford Suite was more room than I needed but there weren’t any other rooms available. I stayed by myself but was doing a bit of “recon” for bringing up my wife and maybe kids. The suite had a great deck with a great view, room was in great shape when I checked in. They have a slick system that worked flawlessly - keys were in the room, tasty pastries were available, and then smoothly switched to the Whalen room my 3rd night. The Whalen room is perfect for solo or a couple, and if you aren’t spending a lot of time in the room which was my case. It was very clean, well set up, and worked perfectly for what I wanted. The location was perfect as the trail goes right by the building. I will be back possibly with friends and/or family! 🙂

Allie & Ryan— the proprietors of the Root River Inn, put their hearts & talents into renovating this 1880’s era building keeping its historic charm, yet implementing the conveniences of home with present day style and comforts! The grounds are beautifully landscaped which include several gathering spaces as well as our own private patio. We had the pleasure of an evening seated around the fire, engaged in memorable conversation with Ryan, Allie and other guests. The Root River Inn is well maintained, clean and welcoming. Our bed was comfortable which made for a good nights sleep. Access to the bike trail was just across the street. The fresh locally made pastries, provided each morning in the “ coffee commons” were delicious. We couldn’t have asked for better hosts or accommodations! We have been to Lanesboro several times now, the Root River Inn is where you will find us when we return! Kelly & Brian

Located in the heart of Lanesboro Root River Inn provides space for someone who is single and a full family. Beautiful overlooks of main street and downtown the yard has places to relax and fun yard games. The rooms are modern and up to date. The owners are more than happy to make your stay comfortable and they love to offer their knowledge of places to eat, relax, and enjoy the outdoors. I can't recommend this place enough!!!

We stayed 3 nights at the Inn and loved it. The rooms are updated and comfortable with clean, modern touches. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and there are several spots to sit and relax--there's even a hammock! Our favorite spot was the Adirondack chairs on the upper balcony. There's a great little room with round-the-clock coffee and tea available and in the morning they have pastries from the bakery down the street. The owners are lovely people who made time to stop and chat with us, and other guests, to make sure everything was great with our stay. We look forward to making this a regular stay!

This place was wonderful! Small town charm! Ryan and Allie were so nice! They even invited all the guest to a bonfire! The conversation was great and could have gone on all night. The room was clean, neat and modern. The even provided amazing pastries from a local bakery in the morning! Would highly recommend!!! You're in walking distance to tubing, bike rentals, cute shops and restaurants.
