What a great place to stay in the heart of Lanesboro! Clean, comfortable, and homey. The Preston suite is delightful. Everything was as if it had just been freshly painted and decorated. Ryan was great, and provided suggestions of what to check out while we visited. I would highly recommend staying here.

Everything was clean, updated, and comfy. The pastry tokens and coffee/tea/water/oatmeal (in the Brew Haus) were nice touches! The kitchen is small (mini fridge, mini stove). Big enough for making a meal. FYI: The Preston Suite has the bathroom inside the bedroom. We planned around it, but it might be good to know if someone is sleeping on the couch. Ryan made us feel welcome! Nice place for sure!

Full 5 stars. The Inn is located right on main street and across the street from the Root River Trail. Our suite was just perfect - one bedroom with a nice comfy futon, a perfect-sized kitchen with coffee, and sunny windows. I loved the wrap around deck overlooking the river and sweet town. Everything is clean, charming, and fresh. Our hosts greeted us, offered yummy pastries, tea and coffee for breakfast, and advice about local food and activities. We'll definitely keep this on our weekend get-away list and bring friends as well.

We had a fantastic weekend at Root River Inn & Suites!! The rooms are well appointed and so cozy! The views of the bluffs and the quaint historic town from our room were beautiful. Plus the warm morning pastries with coffee in the Brew Haus were phenomenal! Also, the Innkeepers Allie and Ryan are super helpful with great recommendations for food and entertainment. We will definitely be staying there again!

This was the perfect setting for gathering with friends, relaxing, and enjoying a "get-away." The rooms and suites were clean and comfortable and the owners could NOT have been more welcoming and accommodating! We'll definitely go back in the summer with our bikes!

How good was our stay - let me count the ways - the rooms were charming and very the beds are very comfortable; access to coffee, tea, hot chocolate was easy and was always available. most especially Ryan an Allie make you feel like visiting old friends and they are a font of knowledge about the Inn and the surrounding Lanesboro area. The Sunday morning pasties were warm just out of the oven and exceptional (Made by Lanesboro Pastry shop - just down the street from the Inn) The Root River is the place to stay when in Lanesboro - perfectly situated on the main street in the center of town. We had a wonderful weekend in Lanesboro! Ryan and Allie are the new owners of the Root River Inn & Suites and they 100% made our time with them enjoyable. They are genuinely nice and very personable owners with a knowledge of the area that you would assume they had been there for years. I can't recommend this Inn enough. With a room to lock up your bike and a really nice patio to spend the evening hours, you really can't do much better. We will be back. The bike trail that runs through town is top notch, especially for our young riders. The town itself is up and coming and has a new brewery and great little restaurants.
