Our stay at the Root River Hotel and Suites was absolutely perfect! Of course the room was clean, comfortable and roomy, but what made it perfect were the extras! The gorgeous location makes you feel like you are in a secret hideaway, even though you are in the heart of Lanesboro! ! And all of the added amenities, like a room to lock your bikes, a special room with refreshments and supplies for s’mores, and coupons for the sweet little coffee shop just steps from the hotel! All in all a 5+ star experience! Would definitely stay again and highly recommend!

Clean, well-appointed room. The bike storage room and off-street parking were what led us to take a room for 4 nights in early September, but the loveliness of the site, the proximity to the trail, and the discount coupons for breakfast really topped off our enjoyment. The Inn had been extensively remodeled a few years ago, providing well-appointed bathrooms, a bed the size of a helipad, and personalized locking systems for the room and bike storage. Everything in our room looked fresh and well cared for. The owners are entrepreneures who are energetic and who have dedicated themselves to providing super accommodations you are not soon to forget.

We stayed in the fountain room. The room was smaller than The pictures perceive it to be. But we did not need that much space with just two adult adults we came down Our wedding anniversary. There were gift cards for the coffee shop in town, which was a nice touch by the owners much appreciated. We will definitely return.

This is an absolutely LOVELY Inn. Somehow they combine the perfect amount of privacy with a feeling of community. There’s a handful of rooms as part of this inn, and they are all sort of built in to a hill so they are “stacked” on top of each other. We stayed in the Chosen Valley Suite which was sidewalk level, so the “bottom” of the stack. It was the most perfect location—just walk out the door into the cute town of Lanesboro. We had a great private deck to have a coffee in the morning and then they have yard games and such for evening. My family of 5 stayed comfortably. Easy check-in/check-out process, and had a mini kitchenette which was a bonus! This was EXACTLY what I was looking for when we went to book a family vacation. Short drive to both the mystery caves, and the Niagara cave (which was the highlight for our family!)

We stayed in the Rushford room and we would stay there again! The patio is generous, has a view and is private. This is a very thoughtful property in that they have lots of extra amenities for you to enjoy during your stay. They even give you a gift certificate to go to the coffee shop in the morning. A tiny bit of feedback is that the coffee shop did not have green tea. I thought that was very odd. I got a Maple cardamom latte and absolutely loved it!
